FBPA! is inspired and elated to see how several peoples’ love for animals have come together to form the “Greatwood Pet Directory” . Their focus is to help lost pets return home in their own neighborhoods. Sharing the effectiveness of the “Greatwood Pet Directory” in a widespread manner will definitely benefit animal lovers and all our local shelters. Furthermore, one of the intrinsic benefits is to protect our property value from decreasing due to roaming packs of dogs in neighborhoods. It is a win win for all program!

Let us tell you why it is effective and why it needs to be duplicated region wide. Deborah, founder and operator of the group estimated to have 4,500 pets on the registry and has reunited over 95% of pets with owners in her area since 2014 . With about 250-300 lost pets per year, she and her group of dedicated volunteers have successfully prevented about 1,350 animals from entering our sheltering system! That is an amazing positive #IMPACT and is definitely a program that deserves recognition. It should be shared among us to produce more group efforts in different areas to help animals return home. Subsequently, less animals will be impounded by shelters, less will subject to contracting diseases and less to be killed for space. **All in all, lives of animals and tax dollars funding shelters will not be wasted due to this proactive measure developed by Deborah DeDe Sullivan and her group.
